| Project Management |
|
On our larger, more complex projects we adopt a robust approach to project management that requires commitments from both Crimsonwing and the client. A typical approach to project management is: Project Steering CommitteeIt is strongly recommended to set up a Project Steering Committee, appointed by Top Management to take responsibility for overall direction of the project. Together, the members of the Project Steering Committee, not the Project Manager, are the final authority for all major decisions about the direction and continuation of the project. It is essential that members of the Project Steering Committee are sufficiently senior to have the authority to commit the organisation's resources fully to the project. It comprises Client representatives, Crimsonwing management and a representative of the hosting service provider (if appropriate). Client ResourcesOur development assumptions are based upon having one Client Project Leader assigned to this project. In addition, we would typically require input from Client staff throughout the project but in particular for the following processes:
Crimsonwing Project ManagerWhen we undertake a project with a client we create a project team that includes the project manager role: Project Manager - The Project Manager is appointed by Crimsonwing to assume day to day responsibility for management of the project throughout all its stages. This person has overall responsibility to the client for the delivery of the project and acts as prime interface with the Project Steering Committee and the client. The Project Manager is also responsible for all application work, project planning and control, implementation of the plan, keeping all parties informed of progress and issues, and management of the project team. The role also includes ensuring that adequate procedures are in place to secure quality of deliverables via agreed approaches and support to the project team. The Project Manager also maintains and reviews with the client the Project plan, progress, change management, issue management, problem management and risk management. |
